



Izmir Bilimpark Incubation Center
Izmir Bilimpark Incubation Center was built for Izmir Chamber of Commerce Industrial Zone in 2015. It is a four storey building, was built in 4250 sqm. The main function of building is office building for university oriented technological researches and developments; the offices are supported by common and social spaces for knowledge exchange.
Although the building is formed by two blocks, they come together through bridges and main entrance hall. The usage of semi-transparent material for partition walls along the corridors and glazing enclosure of elevator core makes both vertical and horizontal circulations visible and provides natural light and spaciousness. The modular organisation of structural system and the angular form of corridors implement to create variation in office sizes for users.
The facade system of building is designed by considering energy control, solar shading and insulation in rain-screen cladding provides this control in each facade. In addition to function, the materials on facade reflect the colours and texture of context, such as travertine tile on lower level is a natural stone from Aegean part of Turkey. Also the ground floor is tiled with similar texture and colours. The finishing materials on upper floors are symbolising the colours of nature as green and blue.
