I'm Mehtap Altug, an architect driven by a passion for innovation and sustainability. My journey in architecture began at Izmir University of Economics, where I honed my skills and graduated in 2013. Eager to deepen my understanding, I embarked on a path of continuous learning, earning a master's degree in Advanced Architectural Design while contributing to university building projects. My pursuit of excellence led me to Barcelona, where I obtained a second master's degree in Biodigital Architecture with top honors. Returning to Izmir University of Economics, I embraced the opportunity to share my knowledge as a part-time instructor, enriching both my academic and professional pursuits. Over six fulfilling years, I imparted wisdom in architectural design studios and computational design courses at various esteemed institutions, including Istanbul Bilgi University and Bahcesehir University. Balancing academia with practical experience, I remained engaged as a part-time architect, completing numerous design projects to further enhance my expertise. In 2022, I took the bold step of establishing my architectural firm, MAAD, where I currently serve as the project architect for a 200,000 sqm warehouse and trade center project. This journey has allowed me to seamlessly integrate academia and practice, empowering me to leverage diverse insights for transformative architectural solutions. Join me in shaping a sustainable and visionary future through architecture.
